Graphic Design Projects

Below are graphic design projects I worked on during my internship at Triangle West TPO. The PDF files of the two plans contain annotations that further elaborate on what the project is and any relevant stylistic choices I made.

Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan

During my internship at the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization, I revised, formatted, and designed the 2024 update of the Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan.

This plan analyzes transportation services for older adults, people with disabilities, and people with low incomes in the western Research Triangle of North Carolina. Priorities identified in this plan help guide applications by local municipalities for FTA Section 5310 funding.

For this project, I brainstormed ways to bring an information-heavy text draft to life. Using InDesign and Canva, I created a theme from scratch and identified parts of the plan that were better explained as infographics, tables, and charts.

Wildlife Crossings Plan

During my internship, I also contributed to the formatting and design of the Wildlife Crossings Plan. This plan—the second of its kind by an MPO in North Carolina—identifies high-risk sites for wildlife-vehicle crashes and recommends improvements that allow wildlife to cross safely underneath roads.

I designed the template for the Project Recommendations section, which compiles images, narratives, maps, and facts of each identified site. I also contributed to the design and formatting of the narrative portion of the plan.

Triangle West TPO Engagement and Visualization Materials

I produced several engagement materials during my internship for the Triangle West TPO board, staff, and the public. Included examples are concepts for a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) informational social media campaign; a TPO staff chart; an umbrella chart that describes the five groups that make up the TPO; and a map that displays the TPO’s boundaries and the locations of member jurisdictions.

MPO Wrapped 2024

I created a video to celebrate all of Triangle West TPO’s accomplishments in 2024. This video highlights the year by the numbers, photos from engagement events, and notable work produced by MPO staff in 2024. The ending reviews the organization’s branding throughout the years and teases a rebrand that occurred in January 2025 (from Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro MPO to the current Triangle West TPO).
